Valentine Week 2019

The Valentine’s week starts from this Thursday, February 7 and it is the time of the year when love is in the air. Valentine’s Week is the perfect occasion to pamper and express your true feelings to your loved ones. The idea is to have a week-long celebration, make countless memories and strengthen your bond.

Here is the list of all the days of Valentine’s Week and a few tips on how to make each day special and memorable with your significant other, best friend, or family.

Rose Day - February 7

'Flower' your near and dear ones with the gift of roses. Besides red, try experimenting with different colors such as yellow, white, pink, and even an orange rose. For a personal touch attach a hand-written note. Here are a couple of local options to purchase your gift of roses:  Hilltop Florist & Greenhouse; Flowers By Jeanie; Becky's Floral & Gift Shoppe; Drummers Garden Center & Floral; Village Flower Shop; Hy-Vee Floral; Cub Foods Floral

Propose Day - February 8

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... Use this day to creatively share your feelings with a loved one. How about putting together a list of reasons why you admire him or her and share them with multiple texts or emails throughout day. Another creative way to propose your love is by writing a personal song. If song writing is not your forte put together a song playlist that best expresses your love.

Chocolate Day - February 9

For those with a sweet tooth this just might be the best day of the Valentine Week! On Chocolate Day, you can use a sweet treat to express your feelings to a friend, family or loved one. Chocolates have been used since ages to signify love, and the third day of Valentine Week is dedicated to them. You can either go for handmade chocolates or buy your loved one's favorite chocolate treat from a store... here are a few local places to check out for some chocolate deliciousness: Wooden Spoon; Bluebird Cakery Mankato; Two Pins Bakery; Bakers Square

Teddy Day - February 10

What better way to say "I love you" than with an adorable teddy bear? Surprise your friend or significant other with a cute teddy bear to celebrate Teddy Day. It shows the cuteness of love and is the ideal gift for everyone from couples to siblings to even parents this Valentine Week.

Promise Day - February 11

Promise Day is one of the most meaningful days of this week. Take your time and think about all the beautiful things you would like to promise your loved one. It could be a promise of being there for him or her always, finally going on a trip you may have talked about, or plan something special together each month. This year, Promise Day will fall on Monday. Use this day to text a loved one and let them know how much they mean to you, to promise loyalty and love.

Hug Day - February 12

When words fail, a hug comes to the rescue. A hug is the most common way to express love and affection. So on this day, go ahead and hug your Valentine, your friend or your family members.

Kiss Day - February 13

A kiss represents affection and love. A simple kiss can make your loved one's day this Valentine Week.
